LaunchPoint Global Tour: Initial Proposal
22 facilities have expressed interest in the Global Tour.
100% transparency on cost. Software fees come directly from SGT or Trackman and are published in full. I take nothing.
Prize pool is player funded, so the more players, the bigger the pot.
Everything below is a first draft. It is 100% open to feedback and redlining. Nothing here is locked in. Bring changes to the August 15 meeting or send them ahead of time.
Three seasons: Fall Tour, Winter Tour, Spring Tour.
Format
- Each club gets to pick their favorite course to play, including local courses near them. If there are more clubs than weeks in the tour, we’ll run a popularity vote to narrow the list.
- Selections are compiled into a schedule and agreed upon by all clubs before the season starts
- One course per week
- GS Pro on one side, Trackman on the other
Competition Rules
- Sim settings are locked and identical across all clubs
- Gross scoring only, open to discussion
- One scored attempt per week. Round must be declared before it starts and streamed start to finish. That score stands. Unlimited unscored practice rounds allowed.
- Weekly window runs Monday through Sunday, open to discussion
- Leaderboard updated live on this site
- Tiebreaker rules to be discussed
Pricing
- Everything is funded per enrolled player, not per club. A club with 6 players pays for 6. A club with 40 pays for 40. Bay count and club size never penalize anyone.
- Software cost is split by total enrolled player count across all clubs, not evenly across clubs
- One entry fee per player, collected at the start of the tour. That fee covers the player’s software cost share plus their prize pool contribution.
- Full breakdown of what covers software versus what goes to the pot is published to every club
- All software costs are at cost. Zero collection on my end. Every number fully disclosed.

- Option to bundle all three tours for players who want the full season
Prize Pool
- Prize pool is 100% per player funded, so the pot grows with every entry. More players, bigger payout. No fixed pot, no club subsidizing another.
- Payouts are spread across the field, not just the top. Proposed paying positions: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, then 10th, 25th, 50th, and 100th, scaling with field size.
- All paying positions are published before the tour starts. Nothing is randomly drawn.
- Winners per club, winners per course, and potentially a season-long overall champion
- Weekly closest to the pin and low round of the week can run alongside the main format
- Prize packages could include cash or a trip to a premium club (Pebble Beach as an example)
- Cash prize tax review in progress
Money Handling
- Zero profit on my end. I take nothing. All software costs go directly to SGT or Trackman. I collect nothing from any club or player beyond that actual cost. Every number published.
- Prize money is held in a separate escrow or dedicated holding account, not by me and not by any individual club. Ledger visible to every participating club.
- Each club remits its enrolled player fees in full before week one. No rolling collection once the tour starts.
- Enrollment locks at the remittance deadline. Players added after that go to the next tour.
- If a club drops mid-tour, its enrolled players stay eligible and finish the season. Funds already remitted stay in the pot. No other club is on the hook for a shortfall.
- If a player drops mid-tour, their contribution stays in the pot. No refunds once play begins.
- Payouts issue from escrow after the final week and after winning rounds are reviewed.
Sponsorship
- Actively exploring sponsors for the tour. More details to come.
Integrity
- All scored rounds must be livestreamed
- Streams stored on YouTube and linked to each round. Can remain private, with review limited to winners.
- Review setup and process in progress
Open items
- Legality of prize pool sharing, specifically the per-player growing pot structure. If the review comes back unfavorable, fallback is sponsor-funded prizes with player fees covering software only.
- Final entry fee number and the software versus prize pool split
- Final payout ladder and how positions scale with field size
- Escrow setup, who administers it, and who reconciles the ledger
- Remittance deadline date
- Refund policy if a tour is cancelled before week one
